Abstract submissions are welcome for consideration for the 20th International Symposium on Industrial Crystallization (ISIC20), which will be held in University College Dublin (UCD), Ireland on 3 – 6 September 2017.

Submission Requirements

The abstract submission process for ISIC20 will be through an online submission portal. Submitters are requested to create an account and submit an abstract for review according to the guidelines set out on this page.

IMPORTANT: The presenting author must submit the abstract and is required to be the contact person for the abstract.

Presentation Format

An abstract can be submitted for presentation at the conference as one of the following:

  • Oral Presentation
  • Poster
  • Oral or Poster


  • Accepted abstracts may be designated as oral or poster presentations by the Programme Committee.


Abstracts must be submitted under one of the conference themes.  The only language of the conference is English and all abstracts must be submitted in that language.

  1. Fundamentals
  2. Characterization and monitoring
  3. Design, scale-up, modelling & control
  4. Applications / Product Engineering
  5. Novel directions / industrial challenges


Provide 3 keywords that are relevant to your abstract.

Submission Guidelines and Templates:

Please adhere to the following formatting guidelines when preparing abstracts for submission for ISIC20. Abstracts not formatted to the following standards will not be accepted.

How to submit an abstract

The presenting author must submit the abstract. They will be the main contact for the abstract. If the abstract is accepted into the conference programme, they must confirm acceptance by registering for the conference by the Early Bird Registration Deadline. If they do not register by this date the abstract will not be included in the conference programme.

The presenting author first must create an online account in the online submission portal by clicking on Create Account. Please keep a record of the email and password used to set up the account as these will be required again to log into the ISIC20 submission and registration portals. The next step is to add the presenting authors Contact Details and then submit the abstract in the ‘Abstract Submission’ section in the system.

Details Required:

The system will ask you to input the following details:

  • Title of the abstract
  • Presentation type (Oral, Poster, Oral or Poster)
  • Theme must be chosen from those listed above
  • Name, affiliation, and job title of lead presenter/corresponding author
  • Name, affiliation, and job title of co-author(s)
  • Indicate the presenting author
  • Provide 3 specific keywords for your abstract
  • Abstract must be 2 pages in length
  • Only WORD files will be accepted.
  • If you would like to include an image in your abstract, please include it in your abstract word file.

IMPORTANT: Please note that you can save your submission as a draft and return to edit the submission, but once it has been submitted the abstract cannot be edited after the close of abstract submission. If you require edits to be made please contact isic20@conferencepartners.com

Abstracts must be formatted using the ISIC20 template. Abstracts can be submitted in English only. Click on the button to download the template

Notification of Acceptance

  • Notification will be sent to authors in May 2017.
  • When notified of acceptance, presenters are required to accept their offer by registering for the conference by June 2017 or they shall be removed from the programme.

Please note:

  • It is the responsibility of the lead presenter to submit the abstract. They will be the main corresponding author whose responsibility it is to communicate with other members of the presenting team.
  • The presenting author must be available to present at the conference between 3rd – 6th September 2017.
  • The abstract submitted must adhere to the abstract submission guidelines outlined and be submitted using the template provided above
  • The text of the abstract along with the names and affiliations, poster and/or additional documents as requested will be published on the conference website and book of abstracts, and that this will not raise any copyright issues.
  • Abstracts submitted as a specific presentation type may be changed to a different presentation type by the Programme Committee in order to be accepted and included in the programme.
  • Presenters may be recorded for live streaming. A recording of the presentation and a copy of the slides may be published online after the conference.
  • It is the responsibility of the lead presenter to submit the abstract. They will be the main corresponding author whose responsibility it is to communicate with other members of the presenting team.
  • An abstract may only be submitted once for ISIC20
  • All abstracts must be submitted in English.
